How it all begins.

I guess I can be counted among the nutters these days. At least that is what people in some circles would have you believe if you don’t fall in step with the current round of propaganda being pushed.

Very subtle things are happening in our society that will have prolonged ramifications for us all ultimately.

We’re watching the fallout of last week’s events. I would call it the closing chapter of a narrative that the people on the Left have been pushing since 2016. Whatever do I mean, you might ask?

Well, back during the campaign of 2016, let’s not forget the HORROR of nuclear war that was in the offing if Hillary Clinton lost:

At least that is what the panicked people on the Left would have you believe. If Hillary wasn’t elected there could be GLOBAL ANNIHILATION!

Yeah, that didn’t happen.

Of course, that didn’t stop people from gaslighting the outgoing President. See, in the passive aggressive policy of the Democrats, if you can’t get your way then you’ll look for every opportunity to undermine your enemy and that is in fact what happened and what has gone on throughout the last four years (this from August of 2017):

California Democrats are stoking a debate over Donald Trump’s mental health and fitness for office, opening a new front in the resistance to the president but raising fears that the line of criticism could backfire.

As early talk of impeachment wanes and questions about Trump’s stability have surfaced after his volatile responses to the violence in Charlottesville — most recently by GOP Sen. Bob Corker and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper — California’s Democratic House delegation has seized on an issue that until recently was limited to the Internet fever swamps.

Never mind that at the time most of the same people were trying their level best to spin statements the President had made. Given America’s collective fruit fly like memory it isn’t at all surprising people don’t want to acknowledge what was happening or what has been happening.

Of course then we had the impeachment parade later on which was another bullshit dog and pony show by our Democratic friends. That was a joke too and what’s interesting is that is was the drama du jour all through the end of 2019 and early 2020 right up until Covid hit which became the next calamity to be embraced by the 24 hour news cycle.

Last week and the events that happened are a direct result of ignoring all those ‘peaceful protests’ that have gone on over the last year and the tacit endorsement of them by Democrats. In instance after instance Police and any form of authority responsible for order has been second guessed and Monday morning quarterbacked about to harsh a response so is it really that much of a surprise that things could get out of control?

Let’s look back at events earlier in 2020 because one of the things we keep hearing about is how there was such a different response by Police and that it had to do with race, keep in mind that in the events of last week there WERE FIVE DEATHS INCLUDING A POLICE OFFICER AND THERE WERE NO DEATHS DURING THE PROTESTS OUTSIDE THE WHITE HOUSE.

Multiple retail stores across D.C. experienced theft and property damage after looters took to the streets during the second night of protests in the District. Areas like Georgetown and CityCenter saw significant damage with some stores in Farragut Square also impacted.

In Georgetown, a Michael Kors store and UBIQ, a locally owned streetwear store were amongst those damaged. Others along M Street saw similar damage, as well as those on Georgetown's H Street like the Metropolitan Optical Store.

So, there was looting in those earlier protests not only that, you had Democrats embracing rioters:

Former Democratic candidates for the 2020 United States presidential election have appeared at the protests. Sen. Elizabeth Warren made an appearance at the protest outside the White House on June 2. Sen. Kamala Harris appeared at Black Lives Matter Plaza on June 5.

And in the meantime, it was not at all a peaceful protest by any stretch of the imagination:

More than 60 Secret Service officers and special agents sustained multiple injuries in three days worth of violent clashes stemming from protests demanding justice for George Floyd in Washington, D.C.

The uprisings overflowed from Lafayette Park and continued near the White House on Saturday night and early into Sunday morning. Protesters in the area had taken to the streets since Friday to condemn police brutality.

Protesters threw bricks, rocks, bottles, fireworks and other items at officers and some Secret Service personnel were also “directly physically assaulted as they were kicked, punched and exposed to bodily fluids,” the statement added.

Yeah, and no one was shot and killed during all of this so there’s one big difference. Guess it’s okay to shot someone if they have a lighter complexion.

Someone I know, who was texting me tried pushing that bullshit about there being a different response and I pointed out no one had been shot and killed during any of those earlier protests (even though there was arson, assault and looting) and observed that the person who had been shot was a military veteran with 14 years of service to the country.

The idiot’s retort? “Wrong place, wrong time.”

Wow, how’s that for a double standard?

Nevertheless, let’s take a look at the local officials who REALLY DROPPED THE BALL HERE STARTING WITH THE MAYOR!

Mayor Muriel Bowser made the request Thursday in a letter addressed to Maj. Gen. William J. Walker, the commanding general of the DC National Guard, in which she referenced protests in the city in November and December that “resulted in a large influx of participants, violence and criminal activity.”

“No DCNG personnel shall be armed during this mission, and at no time, will DCNG personnel or assets be engaged in domestic surveillance, searches, or seizures of US persons,” Bowser, a Democrat, wrote in the letter.

DC Police Chief Robert Contee told reporters on Monday that the National Guard will assist with “crowd management” and traffic control, freeing the city’s police officers to focus on potential cts of violence and other security issues.

You see, having the necessary force and will to control a crowd and a potential riot is anathema to Democrats. That’s because they operate form the vantage point that any grievance they embrace means any action in addressing that grievance is totally justifiable. EXCEPT of course when it’s their own asses on the line.

The funny thing here of course is that when the President had people camped outside his doorstep trying to lay siege to the White House and the Secret Service moved him for his protection he was in essence labeled a coward by the Democrats and the media.

Deborah Berke, dean of the Yale School of Architecture, said the White House barricaded as if it were a military base, with multiple layers of black fencing surrounding the limestone Georgian structure, conveys the opposite message and represents a physical violation of democracy.

“I think the need to fortify your house — and it’s not his house; it’s our house — shows weakness,” she said. “The president of the United States should not feel threatened by his or her own citizens.”

Funny how most of the same people are up in arms now over what was mostly a peaceful protest until a small contingent of people acted out.

See, roll that over in your mind a little because were not getting any actual numbers. Not everyone who went to demonstrate stormed the Capitol building but we aren’t hearing anything about ‘mostly peaceful protests’ this time around, are we?

Yeah... that would be the propagandist’s way.

However, the thing that is of the most concern is some of the fallout from this including Trump getting bounced from Twitter.

I’m not big on social media. That is to say outside of professional networking I don’t have a Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account. I didn’t have any MySpace presence either. The blog is here but it’s not directly associated with me although I’m sure it’s easy enough to be found.

I don’t think anything good comes out of social media but I do have a big problem with people getting booted. In Twitter’s case with the President, it’s more than a little galling only because of the dictators and other people who are far worse than the President. You’ve got the Iranians who haven’t been booted by Twitter, the Chinese but it’s the President they banned... in a nation where we are supposed to pride ourselves on Free Speech.

This will only end badly... once you start determining which speech can be subject to a ban you set a really bad precedent. This is one of those things that will have ramifications way down the road but opponents to the President won’t recognize it until it’s way too late. Kind of the same way they didn’t recognize letting people get away with rioting while holding back the Police ultimately led to what happened last week.
